Started photographing when I was about 12 with an old Agfamatic camera. Making photos in that post-digital era was too expensive so the interest fainted away.
Started again in the '80s with an Olympus IS1000 but I only took family photos, nothing fancy, nothing special.
And still too expensive.
I got completely obsessed by photography the day I bought my first digital camera: a Canon Powershot A70. A marvelous little camera with a lot of potential.
After about 8000 photos I dropped the camera on some rocks in Croatia. Totally depressed I returned to our camp site, the following days were filled with a quest for a new camera. In a small shop on the isle Cres I found a Canon Powershot S2iS. That one is my digital companion and goes wherever I go.

After a year I finally made the giant leap towards a DSLR. A Canon EOS 400D entered the era.
